Tom Bath:

Tom Bath is a trial lawyer who has been practicing criminal law since 1986. Tom’s practice is divided between Federal and State court allegations. His white collar practice includes representation of individual and corporations on complex matters ranging from health care, tax and bank fraud to allegations brought by federal regulatory agencies including the EPA, FDA, HUD and Department of Labor. Tom has also represented individuals in Federal court on matters including public corruption, bribery, bank robbery, narcotics distribution, RICO and prescription fraud. Tom’s state practice includes every type of allegation including securities fraud, embezzlement, narcotics, vehicular homicide, DUI, robbery, child abuse, sexual assault and murder.

From 1986 to 1992 Tom was an Assistant District Attorney where he prosecuted numerous high profile cases and was recognized in 1992 as the prosecutor of the year in the State of Kansas. Since 1992 his practice has focused on criminal defense. Tom is a past president of the Johnson County Bar Foundation and was on the Board of Directors for the Johnson County Bar. Tom is currently on the Board of Governors for the Kansas Bar Association. In 2000 and 2004 Tom was elected by his peers to the Kansas Supreme Court Nominating Commission where he has participated in the nomination of four Supreme Court and eight Court of Appeals candidates.

In 2004 Tom was awarded the Outstanding Service Award by the Kansas Bar Association. This award recognizes lawyers for service that significantly advances the administration of justice or the goals of the legal profession. Tom is one of a select few who have been asked by the Courts (State and Federal) to represent individuals charged with capital murder. Tom has been a featured speaker and panelist at numerous local and state conferences addressing criminal law issues.

Tom’s practice has included appearances in Kansas, Missouri, Colorado, Iowa and Arkansas. Tom has in excess of 90 state and federal jury trials including allegations of bribery, public corruption, RICO, tax fraud, bank fraud, wire fraud, money laundering, narcotics distribution, health care fraud, perjury, vehicular homicide, sexual assault, embezzlement, rape, DUI, murder and capital murder.

Tricia Tenpenny:

Tricia Tenpenny is licensed to practice in both Kansas and Missouri and has practiced in the area of criminal law since 1997. Tricia serves clients in all levels of criminal law, from Municipal Court offenses to serious State and Federal allegations. Tricia’s Municipal Court practice includes defense of DUI and other alcohol-related offenses as well as battery, theft, marijuana possession and minor traffic offenses. In State Court, Tricia defends both adults and juveniles in misdemeanor and felony matters involving: drugs and alcohol, property crimes, physical and sexual assaults and murder. Tricia has also participated in the Federal defense of such crimes as bank robbery, narcotics distribution, tax fraud, bank fraud, illegal re-entry and antitrust violations.

Tricia is a former Assistant District Attorney who prosecuted burglary, theft, rape, robbery and homicide as well as drug and alcohol-related offenses. As a defense attorney, Tricia has been asked by the Courts to defend persons facing the death penalty. Tricia served on the Johnson County Bar Association Board of Directors from 2004-2005 and currently serves as the Criminal Law Section President of the Kansas Bar Association.
